Home help, emergency aid, and case management in L.A.
Catholic Charities of Los Angeles provides a web of social services across an 8,500 square-mile area. Among its programs are two designed to help seniors live better at home. The Older Adult Services and Intervention System (OASIS) serves several hundred LA-area seniors each year with financial assistance, case management services, errands, and companionship. The Gatekeeper Project in Long Beach offers free needs assessments, food deliveries, transportation help, and case management referrals for low-income and disabled seniors.
Other Catholic Charities programs can help local seniors in crisis. The Elizabeth Ann Seton Residence in Long Beach offers emergency housing for seniors and others who find themselves homeless. Catholic Charities also provides hundreds of thousands of meals and grocery donations each year to low-income Angelenos. And the LA area’s 22 Catholic Charities community centers provide help with medical referrals, legal aid, benefits assistance, and other services.

Nazareth House of Los Angeles has provided affordable Los Angeles assisted living since 1935. The 5-acre campus in Cheviot Hills is in the early part of a multi-stage renovation project to expand and upgrade its housing.
