How are family members kept informed?<\/h3>\n<p>Will an\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senioradvisor.com\/assisted-living\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">assisted living<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0community\u2019s staff give you regular updates? If so, how often and what information will they share? If you have new information about your parents\u2019 care to share with the staff, who should you contact?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other questions you may want to ask include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are there holiday celebrations?<\/li>\n<li>Are there special events for residents\u2019 birthdays?<\/li>\n<li>Does a beautician regularly visit the community and if so, how can your parents book appointments?<\/li>\n<li>How often are excursions planned to local attractions and shops?<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s the housekeeping and laundry schedule?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2. What does a typical day look like?<\/h3>\n<p>When you\u2019re seriously considering a community for your parents or senior loved ones, you\u2019ll want to get answers to very specific questions about senior care routines to make sure they\u2019ll be a good fit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Things to ask include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are there daily fitness and social activities?<\/li>\n<li>Are there snacks available outside regular meal times?<\/li>\n<li>Can residents start their day at a time of their choice?<\/li>\n<li>Is lights-out a fixed time or do residents have a choice?<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s the meal service schedule?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the staff will administer meds or remind your parents of their medication schedule, who oversees that schedule and ensures it\u2019s followed?<\/p>\n<h3>3. When can family and friends visit?<\/h3>\n<p>Are there set visiting hours and if so, what are they?
